Why are you a youth leader?
I got interested because I believe in advocating for other people. I work with young people with disabilities and want to make a better environment for them where youth feel free to express themselves, get respects, the justice and help they need and where young people with disabilities can enjoy life.
I am born into a family with many children and I'm the only one with a disability. It was hard for me because I had to learn my family to use sign language but now, we understand each other.
What has been the best thing this week?
I have learned so many things: Financial management, how to facilitate, how to plan, we did team building and more to mention. I have interacted with a lot of new people, and I have become more confident. All the things I have learned I will bring to my country and capacity build other young people. I will use what I have learned to help other people.
What are you looking forward to the rest of the period as a youth leader?
To work for an inclusive environment for other young people with disabilities. I will also try to look for accessibility in terms of justice. I look forward to being a good leader in the community that I come from. I will involve other young people and advocate for a world with zero discrimination. An inclusive world where everyone can access everywhere.
